By Jasmin Kouhkan

COVID-19 has caused stress, fear, and loss for people all over the world. While people are getting vaccinated and life feels more normal, the pandemic continues to evolve. A new concern is the more contagious strain of COVID known as “Delta.”

Delta is now the most common type of COVID in the U.S. Yale Medicine tells us that people who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are at the highest risk for getting Delta. Kids and people under 50 are also at a higher risk. Doctors say getting vaccinated is the most important thing you can do to protect yourself.

It is important to follow your local health guidelines (you can find Alameda County’s health guidelines here) and CDC prevention guidelines that are available for vaccinated and unvaccinated people.
